Pharmacy Guild pays tribute to Chief Health Officer Dr John Gerrard
Following the announcement that he would not seek a second term as Chief Health Officer (CHO), The Pharmacy Guild of Australia Queensland’s Branch President, Chris Owen, today paid tribute to Dr. John Gerrard.
Mr. Owen praised Dr Gerrard’s service and commitment to public health and his leadership through the difficult stages of recovery after the COVID-19 outbreak.
“Queensland has been extraordinarily well-served by Dr. Gerrard’s leadership and commitment in his role as CHO,” said Mr. Owen.
“Dr. Gerrard began his tenure as CHO during a critical time just as Queensland was coming out of the worst of the pandemic and beginning the recovery process.
“Community Pharmacists across Queensland have enjoyed our partnership with Dr. Gerrard,” said Mr. Owen.
Mr. Owen also took the opportunity to wish Dr. Gerrard well as he returns to clinical practice.
“Community pharmacists wish Dr. Gerrard the very best and have no doubt that Queensland will continue to benefit from his expertise as he returns to clinical practice,” said Mr. Owen.
