Leading Base Technology — It’s Just Another Benefit of Membership

At PCCA, we invest in the foundations of your practice.
We know as well as anyone that bases are the foundation of many compounded medications, and having access to the highest quality bases ensures that your patients get the treatment they deserve.
That’s why we’re committed to providing a wide range of exclusive, high-performing vehicles, allowing our members to help patients solve any problem that arises.
Here’s a sneak peek at four of our favourites:
Lipoderm®
PCCA Lipoderm was the first proprietary transdermal vehicle in the compounding industry, and it is now the standard in transdermal bases. It is commonly compounded with NSAIDs, muscle relaxants, anaesthetics and sedatives, and it’s scientifically proven to deliver up to four active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) through the skin at one time.* And, Lipoderm is supported by an ever-growing portfolio of peer-reviewed journal publications and FormulaPlus™ BUD-studied formulas.
In addition to being the most studied transdermal base in the industry, Lipoderm comes with a few other advantages, too. It doesn’t separate when refrigerated, resulting in cosmetically elegant and stable preparations, and its smooth, creamy application allows for a better patient experience.
The patented Lipoderm core technology has led to the development of an entire line of transdermal bases, known as the Lipoderm Family, to address a variety of patients’ needs.
VersaBase® Cream
PCCA VersaBase Cream is soothing and gentle, even for the most sensitive areas. This elegant, yet durable, topical cream simulates the natural moisturising barrier of the skin through its emulsion system and rubs in quickly, leaving a soft and silky feel.
VersaBase Cream be used for a variety of pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications, and it’s an ideal compounding base for topical and vaginal hormone replacement therapy. Because it is noncomedogenic, hypoallergenic, nonirritating and odor-free, it suits the needs of a variety of patients.
MucoLox™
PCCA MucoLox is a revolutionary mucosal delivery system that boasts unrivalled staying power. This innovative base provides long-lasting coverage and improved contact time with APIs in a variety of formulations, including oral, rectal, vaginal and oesophageal preparations. It’s great for wound care, too.
Here’s how it works: MucoLox’s one-of-a-kind polymer network provides improved moisturisation, mucoadherence and superior film forming action. It bonds to the mucosa to create a powerful but lightweight coating effect that doesn’t easily wash away.
MucoLox is one of our most versatile bases, able to be used in formulations for dental mouthwashes, vaginal conditions, oesophageal suspensions, enemas, wound care and so much more.
SuspendIt™
PCCA SuspendIt is an all-in-one suspension base featuring a unique, patent-pending natural suspending agent. This versatile base uses a unique group of polymers that provides exceptional thixotropic flow. For the patient, this means their medication will more easily redisperse when shaken. For the pharmacist, this means that active ingredients are much less likely to cake at the bottom of the bottle. And for the practitioner, this means knowing that their patient is getting a more accurate and consistent dose.
SuspendIt is made with monk fruit, so although it is formulated without sugar, it has a pleasant taste. Some APIs require no additional flavour or sweeteners. SuspendIt also works well with PCCA flavours and additional sweeteners, if desired. It’s allergy-friendly, too, making it an ideal choice even for patients requiring a gastrostomy tube or jejunostomy tube.
