Health Minister Hunt to open APP 2019

The Australian Pharmacy Professional Conference and Trade Exhibition (APP) has announced that Federal Minister for Health The Hon Greg Hunt MP will deliver the opening keynote address at APP2019.

APP Chairman Kos Sclavos said that, it is an honour to have the Minister again present at Australia’s premier community pharmacy conference and trade exhibition.

“It’s great news that Minister Hunt, will once again attend APP as our keynote speaker on day one. We appreciate his involvement and don’t take for granted his participation every year since becoming Health Minister.

“With 2019 being an election year and the federal budget being handed down within a month of APP, this may be his most important presentation ever held,” said Kos.

The Pharmacy Guild of Australia Acting National President, Professor Trent Twomey, said that it is always a great occasion to have the Minister on hand.

“His presence at APP will be a further indication of his commitment to the pharmaceutical industry,” said Trent.

In addition to Minister Hunt presenting the opening keynote address, he will also be present to announce the winner of the Pharmacy of The Year.

“As the opening session will begin at 8.30am, I would like to remind delegates that daylight saving is not observed in Queensland and to lock in your travel plans early to ensure you do not miss this important session,” Kos said.

“Full program updates will be provided to delegates, however I encourage all delegates to visit appconference.com to stay abreast of the latest program and ensure they are able to attend Thursday morning to hear from the Minister,” Kos said.

APP will run from March 7 – 10 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, Queensland and is the largest pharmacy conference and trade exhibition in Australia and is a priority event for community pharmacy businesses and wholesalers alike.
