Health House founder Paul Mavor ‘back in the pharmacy game’
Paul Mavor, the founder of distribution firm Health House International (HHI) and hemp alcohol brand Herbee, has gone back to his pharmacy roots.
He and business partner Mo Albazy have opened Plant Pharm in the Perth suburb of Malaga, a full-service pharmacy specialising in plant-based medicine.
The outlet, which carries a large range of hemp food and topical products, aims to provide “agnostic, unbiased advice with competitive pricing and convenient hours”, Mavor told Cannabiz.
Writing on LinkedIn, he added: “Back in the pharmacy game… We are proud to be Western Australia’s first dedicated plant-based dispensary.
“As well as carrying prescription and over-the-counter medicine, we are carrying a full range of hemp foods, skincare and pet care [products]. Pharmacy is open seven days from 7am to 7pm.
“Big thanks to my business partner Mo Albazy for doing most of those hours. And as always my beautiful wife Sharlene Mavor for supporting all of my crazy ideas and helping stock the shelves.”
Mavor, who previously operated Ballajura Pharmacy on the site from 1998, added: “Have already had quite a few familiar faces poke their heads through the door and hope to see many more.”
He left HHI in November last year after it was announced Melodiol Global Health (then Creso Pharma) would acquire the company in an all-scrip deal valued at up to A$4.6 million.
Herbee launched the following month.
Mavor will continue consulting for Cannatrek’s distribution business, Greenship.
