Get Ready for Faster and Easier MedsCheck Recording

Since 2012, MedsCheck recording has been a staple GuildCare program, originally guiding Pharmacists to meet recording requirements under the 5th Community Pharmacy Agreement (5CPA).

In 2016, as part of the transition to the current 6th Community Pharmacy Agreement (6CPA) the focus of MedsCheck has continued and included the introduction of Diabetes MedsCheck recording into the GuildCare platform.

Recently announced* 6CPA changes will see an increase in professional services opportunities for current and future GuildCare users, as there has been a rise in the number of MedsCheck and Diabetes MedsCheck services claimable under 6CPA – from ten cases per month to twenty, as well as the realigning of the claim fee structure. This allows our partner pharmacies to not only support and improve the health outcomes of their patients, but also significantly increases the revenue opportunity available through GuildCare supported 6CPA programs.

The new cloud-based GuildCare NG platform makes delivering, recording and claiming against 6CPA programs even easier. We asked pharmacists at a recent ACT Pharmacy Guild of Australia hands-on training workshop about their experience of GuildCare NG and:

GuildCare NG MedsCheck and Diabetes MedsCheck Recording Program features:

  • ‘Medication List’ is prepopulated from Dispense history
  • Easily organise and edit Patient’s Medication List
  • Download MedsCheck and Diabetes MedsCheck ‘Claim Report’( in a 6CPA portal ready excel form)
  • Print an easy to read ‘Patient Report’ that includes drug images
  • Patient is able to view their ‘Patient Report’ through the myPharmacyLink app

To continue supporting patients who have completed a MedsCheck or other in-pharmacy professional service, pharmacists can enrol the patient (or their carer) into myPharmacyLink to help manage their medication reminders, script refills and access a copy of their MedsCheck Report.
