Community pharmacy network hits the green to make children’s wishes come true

Fourth annual Blooms The Chemist Charity Golf Day raises a further $50,000 for Make-A-Wish Australia.

Leading community pharmacy network Blooms The Chemist teed off today all in the name of charity at their annual golf day, continuing their proud support of Make-A-Wish Australia.

In its fourth year, the charity golf day brought together a number of corporate sponsors and ambassadors to play 19 holes of golf to raise funds for the children’s charity. The local community rallied behind the event, raising $50,000 which will help bring to the life the magical wishes of 5 seriously-ill children.

With teams hitting the green before dawn, the Blooms The Chemist Charity Golf Day included a wide range of fun activities to drive extra funds for the children’s charity including the Longest Marshmallow Drive and the Nearest To The Pin competitions.

“It is such a privilege to hit the green and put out the clubs today to raise much needed raise for Make-A-Wish Australia. Today’s efforts alone raised a further $50,000 for the children’s charity, who work tirelessly to make the biggest and boldest of dreams a reality for seriously-ill children and their families,” said Blooms The Chemist Head of Retail Emmanuel Vavoulas.

Brand ambassador and avid golfer Steve Waugh were also board at the event to support the work that Make-A-Wish Australia do.

“Blooms The Chemist would like to extend a huge thank you to the community and our partners for making this year’s Charity Golf Day a massive success. Without your help, we would not have been able to raise this life-changing amount,” said Vavoulas.

Since 2016, Blooms The Chemist stores across the country have raised more than $1 million for Make-A-Wish Australia through local and national fundraising activities, helping the charity to create unforgettable wishes for children with a critical illness.
