Claus for concern: Man gets stuck in pharmacy chimney during alleged robbery
An alleged robber may end up on the naughty list this Christmas after he became stuck in a chimney of a pharmacy north of Melbourne and was arrested.
Police were called to the pharmacy in Lancefield about 10.30pm on Monday night when an alarm went off at the shop, but left shortly after.
They were then called to the same address a short time later after the man called emergency services when he became stuck in the chimney of the High Street pharmacy.
A 22-year-old man from Woodend was assessed on the scene for minor injuries before he was taken back to a police station to be interviewed.
He was charged with burglary and bailed to appear at the Kyneton Magistrates’ Court on February 4 next year.
In an unrelated incident, a Santa hat-clad thief who allegedly stole a wheelchair from a man using a toilet in Federation Square has been charged.
The alleged thief was wearing a Santa hat when he struck up a conversation with the 54-year-old victim at Flinders Street station about 11am before allegedly stealing his electric wheelchair and leaving the man in a toilet cubicle.
He was arrested on Monday afternoon and charged with theft.
