Blooms The Chemist and customers celebrate $2M milestone for Make-A-Wish Australia

Blooms The Chemist has reached a major milestone. With the support of the community, they have donated over $2 million to help Make-A-Wish Australia grant life-changing wishes for sick kids.

Since 2016, Blooms The Chemist has held over one hundred fundraisers for Make-A-Wish Australia at its Support Office and across its member network, including bake sales, raffles, sausage sizzles and charity golf days.

One network member in particular, Blooms The Chemist Miller in New South Wales, has raised and donated over $25,000 to Make-A-Wish Australia since 2016. Other initiatives that have contributed to the milestone include the network’s annual Golf Day, with funds raised helping to grant wishes of local children with critical illness like Hannah and Jackson.

After hearing Hannah’s wish to see the lights of Vivid Sydney was delayed, Blooms The Chemist worked with Make-A-Wish and Destination NSW to create a unique, magical Vivid experience for Hannah and her family. Blooms The Chemist also raised funds from the sale of bauble tokens over Christmas to help grant wishes like six-year-old Jackson’s wish to go on a winter wonderland trip with his family.

“It really comes down to the kindness and generosity of the individual Blooms The Chemist communities, network pharmacies, and supplier partners to help us reach this milestone,” said Blooms The Chemist CEO Emmanuel Vavoulas.

“The work Make-A-Wish Australia does for critically ill children and their families is life-changing, and as a network of community pharmacies, we are so proud to support families across Australia in any way we can.”

“Raising over $2 million is an extraordinary achievement and demonstrates the incredible effort and passion of the Blooms The Chemist team, customers, and pharmacy network,” said Make-A-Wish Australia CEO, Sally Bateman.

“As an organisation that receives no government funding, partners like Blooms The Chemist are crucial in helping us grant wishes for the critically ill children in our program. Thanks to the ongoing support from Blooms The Chemist and the broader Australian community, we can bring more wishes to life for the 900 children currently on their Wish Journey, making a genuine difference in their lives.”
