Blooms The Chemist today announced three new community pharmacy stores have been added to its expanding network, opening in the Sydney suburbs of Crow’s Nest, Gladesville, and Penrith.

This latest expansion ensures Blooms The Chemist continues to deliver on its purpose to provide equitable, affordable access to good health and wellbeing to all Australians.

To mark these launches, each pharmacy celebrated with a range of customer activities that comprised face painting, children’s colouring competitions, and bonus rewards program benefits. In addition, each store hosted fundraising initiatives for its chosen charity partners, including Make-A-Wish Australia.

In the Crow’s Nest pharmacy, the Member for Willoughby, Tim James MP, joined Blooms The Chemist’s Pharmacist Owner, Clement Lo, at a special ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the store opening.

Speaking at the opening, Mr Tim James MP, said, “This is a highly valued and appreciated community pharmacy in Crow’s Nest, which sits on a fantastic location. We thank Blooms The Chemist for investing in an existing business and help make it even better and everything our community would want to see in a modern fantastic community pharmacy.

“The opening comes at a very exciting time, as we all know from the past experiences of COVID, just how hard community pharmacists have worked and how much you have stepped up, delivered, and made sacrifices, as well as the extraordinary contributions to our community and our country. For that we thank you and all your staff.

“We’re very excited for Blooms The Chemist to be in Crow’s Nest and congratulate everyone involved. It matters so much to the local community and for that I want to say a big thank you,” he said.

“Pharmacists are regularly sought after for our advice and support in the local community, and at Blooms The Chemist, we provide a range of important health services including blood pressure evaluation, cholesterol and iron screening and perinatal advice,” said Clement Lo, Pharmacist Owner at Blooms The Chemist Crow’s Nest.

“By giving the community greater access to these healthcare services, and a place where they can pop in for help with questions and advice about their general health and wellbeing, we provide a pivotal role working in partnership with other healthcare providers,” Lo adds.

Eman Khaled, Pharmacist Owner at Blooms The Chemist Penrith High Street, is a great example of the opportunity Blooms The Chemist provides in enabling a pathway into ownership. A former team member at Blooms The Chemist Bankstown, Eman is delighted to achieve her dream of ownership.

“My parents, who migrated to Australia from Lebanon, always motivated me to follow my dreams. Once I started in pharmacy it was clear this was the right career for me, and to achieve my dream of pharmacy ownership at this point in my life is exciting, with everyone at Blooms The Chemist very supportive in helping me fulfill that goal,” she said.

Blooms The Chemist Gladesville is located in a community shopping precinct called the Shopping Village. Pharmacist Owner Abboud Hannaoui says joining Blooms The Chemist is an important step for the local area.

“I have been a Pharmacist in Gladesville for many years and know firsthand the important role we play in our local community, supporting customers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. In joining Blooms The Chemist, we will further cement our role assisting our customers on a range of health matters, and bring expanded services and greater value into the pharmacy.”

Emmanuel Vavoulas, Blooms The Chemist’s CEO, said: “We’re delighted to be expanding our Blooms The Chemist network across Sydney with these three new pharmacies and welcome our new Pharmacy Owners into the business. Each of these new stores will ensure we continue to contribute to the ever-changing healthcare landscape, supporting and enabling our Pharmacists to thrive as they serve and improve the health outcomes of their local communities.”
