APP Sets Another Record

APP2015 has smashed records with an incredible 5,448 people attending the event earlier this month on the Gold Coast. This year’s event had everything from drag queens and Brazilian dancers to a celebrity chef, Australia’s favourite scientist (Dr Karl), an ultra triathlete, a mariachi band, giant teddy bears and flash mobs!
With 6CPA negotiations at a crucial point, the overwhelming support and attendance at APP sent a very clear message to both the Federal Health Minister, the Hon Sussan Ley MP who made it clear in her keynote address that she understands the important role community pharmacy plays in delivering health services, and to the industry as a whole.
70-plus national and international speakers contributed to the overall aim of the educational program, which was to address the theme ‘Transforming Pharmacy – opportunities & challenges’ and to equip pharmacists with the latest tools to ensure that their pharmacies thrive.
The social highlight of the event was by far the new format Street Party, which wowed guests with a myriad of entertainment centred on the theme of the night – Rio Carnivale.
APP2016 will be held 17-20 March at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre.
