Welcome to Chapter 2 of the Ask Your Pharmacist Consumer Campaign

The Guild’s engaging and highly effective national consumer advertising campaign was launched in 2014, with the aim of strengthening community pharmacy’s position as a trusted source of health service and advice.
The campaign’s objective is to encourage more customers (especially women aged 24-55) to visit their local pharmacy for advice and services.
All ads push the audience to the askyourpharmacist.com.au campaign website, where visitors are prominently encouraged to ‘find a pharmacy’ near them with the services they desire.
Be a part of something great!
We received some great results during Chapter 1 and are expecting more of the same in Chapter 2.
Together, we’ll encourage Australians to ‘ask your pharmacist’ when it comes to health care services.
The Guild makes it really easy for members to be involved with the campaign by providing engaging and effective in-store material.
- Members who have registered their interest should receive their first pack – including magnets, posters and staff badges – by the end of June.
- Participating pharmacies will be asked to confirm their details in myGuild for the personalised script backs in the second promotional pack.
- The campaign goes live to consumers on June 20, so make sure your stores are decorated and your staff are briefed on the services you offer – especially those mentioned in the advertising.
- By displaying the Gold Cross tile in your pharmacy you can take advantage of the advertising campaign’s push to ‘look for the gold cross’ .
Get in touch with your local branch to find out if there’s any stock left, or to request the digital material and artwork.
Missed the registration period?
If you’ve missed the initial call for registrations, you may still be able to access in-store material from your local branch. Get in touch with your local branch to find out if there’s any stock left, or email askyourpharmacist@guild.org.au to gain access to the digital material and artwork.

Reinforcing the value of community pharmacy
Guild Members benefit from the national advertising campaign’s effectiveness in encouraging more customers to ‘ask your pharmacist’, positioning community pharmacy as a trusted and accessible source of health advice and services.
The Ask Your Pharmacist campaign is a great opportunity to unite community pharmacies behind a single and engaging brand that promotes the role as trusted health service providers.

The Discover More. Ask Your Pharmacist TV ad left Australian airwaves on 4 April 2015, but that doesn’t mean the campaign is over in pharmacy.
The residents and pharmacy of Whatchoocan-Sea still have a whole lot more to say about how community pharmacies can help provide healthcare and services.
The Guild has created a series of Ask Your Pharmacist posters that build on the campaign messages and draw attention to services and advice offered in many pharmacies.
Members can download these posters and find out more about participating in Chapter 2.
Results from Chapter 1
Following Chapter 1 of the campaign, 75% of customers who use a pharmacy between two and six times a year were more likely to consider using a pharmacy for advice or service after seeing the commercial.
Chapter 1 asked people to “look for the gold cross in the window”. Recognition of the gold cross reached 54% during the campaign.
