‘Discover More’ Dispensing Facebook Post Goes Viral

A post showing what goes into the pharmacists’ dispensing process has attracted more than 350,000 views on Facebook as Guild Members and pharmacy staff flock to social media to express their support for their industry.

The post which was shared on the Ask Your Pharmacist consumer campaign Facebook page went viral, attracting more than 2000 shares, 6000 likes and nearly 1000 comments.

Attached to the Facebook post is a detailed infographic explaining the dispensing process from prescription in to medicine out.

Commenters ranged from interested members of the public to passionate pharmacists and pharmacy assistants currently working in the industry.

One Facebooker commented: “And there I thought you just drank coffee. I know how much goes into making sure the right meds go to the right patient. Carry on the good work!!!”

Another said: “Now I understand what u do and why there’s a wait!!”

Many pharmacy staff members also suggested printing the graphic and putting it up in their own workplaces.

The post follows a huge surge of support and engagement on the Guild’s social media channels after sharing numerous reports and views on PBS changes and the dollar discount.
