PC Conf 2022

A new record of over 900 Australian and overseas delegates came together at the Hilton Sydney over 1-3 September for the long-awaited Pharmacy Connect 2022 and what a success it was!

Convenor, Kos Sclavos AM, thanked the owners, pharmacists, interns, pharmacy students, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors who contributed to an outstanding conference.

“It is a fantastic feeling to have held Pharmacy Connect with hundreds of people attending. Thank you for supporting Pharmacy Connect 2022,” Mr Sclavos AM said.

“Congratulations to the many people who have worked diligently on delivering the Pharmacy Connect Conference, not just this year but the planning that had gone into the two postponed conferences.

“This year’s conference had over 30 speakers focusing on the theme of how pharmacists can build better connections with patients.”

“Some highlights for me were hearing firsthand from State and Federal politicians, including New South Wales Labor Leader Mr Chris Minns MP; Senator the Hon Anne Ruston, Shadow Minister for Health and Aged Care; Ms Allegra Spender MP, Member for Wentworth on the Women in Pharmacy Breakfast panel and the Judy Liauw Address presented by Hon Emma McBride MP, Assistant Minister for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention.

“The 50-plus exhibitors in the trade exhibition were buzzing with energy as suppliers were able to reconnect face-to-face with pharmacists and owners about new and innovative products and services for pharmacy.”

“With two years of no Pharmacy Connect, I was delighted to see delegates enjoying themselves at the social functions which included the Welcome Reception, Cocktail Party and Women in Pharmacy Breakfast.”

The conference concluded with the Australia Health Minister Young Pharmacist Global Exchange Scholarship being presented to Grace Orr-Young by Hon Emma McBride MP. Grace is a West Australian pharmacist and has the opportunity to work in the United Kingdom for up to 12-months.

“Mark your calendar for 31 August to 2 September 2023 for Pharmacy Connect in Sydney.”

“If you are starting to think about your next professional development and networking opportunity, think about APP2023,” Mr Sclavos said.

Early bird registrations open this week with a saving of up to $120. The first 200 to register as full delegates will receive an extra 10% off the early bird price.
