Managing acne using SkinB5 and the SkinB5 Pharmacy Support Program

The SkinB5 range of products is a new way of managing acne, focusing on treating skin issues from the inside out.

We’re proud to be able to help Australians who suffer pimples, acne and skin breakouts, and we’re grateful to Australian community pharmacies for selling our product and providing advice and support to your customers for how to use the Skin B5 range.

What is SkinB5?

SkinB5 stops all types of acne with a simple system that works from the inside out.

SkinB5’s patented range of nutritional vitamins include a potent dose of vitamin B5, treating the root causes of acne by controlling skin oil production, strengthening immunity, relieving stress, supporting hormone balance and encouraging cell renewal.

SkinB5 vitamin formulas are safe for users 12 years and older.

The five-product range consists of Acne Control Extra Strength Tablets, Caplets, Cleanser, Moisturiser and the 5-Minute Skin Purifying Mask.

Any one product or the whole range can form part of a daily skincare regime.

The role of the pharmacist

We recognise that pharmacists and pharmacy Assistants are at the heart of a pharmacy’s operation.

You connect customers with vital medicine, while helping keep your customers feeling safe and welcome. They rely upon you for your expertise.

So we know you’re in the ideal position to support patients who present to your pharmacy for treating acne such as by a prescription for oral or topical treatment.

That’s why we want to support you to be able to recommend SkinB5 if you think it’s suitable for your customers.

What is the SkinB5 Pharmacy Support Program?

SkinB5 has created the Pharmacy Support Program (PSP) to support Australian community pharmacies with a range of resources to enable pharmacists and pharmacy assistants to determine if a patient is suitable for acne treatment with the SkinB5 Acne Control System.

Education to patients about SkinB5’s range by a trusted Pharmacist is crucial to a successful outcome. So the resource material in the PSP will help you to know whether the SkinB5 range is right for your customers.

SkinB5 allows you to introduce a new option to treat acne, targeting the root causes while supporting overall skin wellness.

We’ve already received great feedback from our pharmacist partners. For example, Katrina Kana, BPharm, Owner of Chemist Outlet Wallsend, Wallsend NSW, told us they have many repeat purchases of SkinB5, and:

“SkinB5’s Pharmacy Support Program has increased my patient care, and customer loyalty and goodwill. It’s great to be able to offer an alternative to Vitamin A derivative medication with its many side effects. Our young customers like to have a regime and the SkinB5 step-by-step system is easy to follow. Both supplements and skincare work together to bring the best patient outcome. I wanted to highlight that for this younger age group, it’s not just an acne treatment: SkinB5 supports immunity and reduces stress, so they stay healthy through that hard part of their life.”

Acne treatments, as a category of medicines, can be confusing. Pharmacists can use SkinB5’s collateral, provided with the PSP, to explain common misunderstandings about acne to patients, and to answer the other likely questions that patients will ask you: the most suitable product, when to use it, how it works, dosage information, and how long to use the treatment.

Pharmacy department location

Acne treatments are located in various places in a pharmacy. An oral formulation complementary medicine may be located in the vitamins department.

Topical solutions may be located in the skincare department.

Scheduled medicine products may be kept behind the counter.

It’s easiest to understand for the consumer to present the entire range together as a comprehensive solution.

And while the SkinB5 range has traditionally been located in the skincare section, locating the SkinB5 range of five products in both the acne/medicated skincare section and the pharmacist’s dispensing station can be a useful way of encouraging your clients to ask for recommendations.

We would recommend having the SkinB5 Ask Your Pharmacist brochure, from the PSP, within easy reach of the pharmacist.

SkinB5 is available through the wholesalers Sigma, Symbion and API.
